DECENNIAL YEAR OF SJDC BEGUN 2002-2012
The management, staff and students gathered in the lobby of the General Hospital on the 17th of October, 2011 to mark the 9th anniversary of the inauguration of the first academic year and the beginning of the 10th year of the college (the Decennial Year). It was on this day 9 years ago the College began its journey.
Fr. Bala, the Secretary and Correspondent said:
17 October, 2002 remains a red letter day in the annals of St. Joseph Dental College as on this day the first academic year was inaugurated by the Founder Chairman, late Bishop John Mulagada. Dr.C.L.Venkata Rao, a member of the MCI helped us in the setting up of this institution. He explained to the small gathering of faculty, students and their parents about the hands behind the project.
Fr. Bala also recalled how Fr.Stalin and he struggled in Delhi to obtain the necessary permissions year after year and thanked Dr.K.J.Ramesh who stood behind the management all these years as the Principal of the College.
The Decennial Cake was cut by Dr. Ravi Kant MDS, our first batch student who now joined the faculty as senior lecturer. Dr.H.P.Srinath, the first of the faculty to join the college, proposed Vote of Thanks in the capacity of in charge Principal of the College. Fr.Abraham, the vice chairman, unveiled the Logo for the Decennial year 2002-2012.
PRIESTLY SILVER JUBILEE YEAR OF FR. BALA BEGUN:1987-2012
Fr. Bala, the secretary and correspondent of St.Joseph institutions was ordained a priest in the Roman Catholic diocese of Eluru on 29th October, 1987, 24 years ago. On the 29th of october, 2011, he completed 24 years of priesthood and entered the 25th year of his priesthood. This is a matter of pride for every priest and a time to thank God for choosing him as His priest and entrusting him with great works. It is a matter of joy for all of us in the campus to join him to thank the Lord and also to congratulate him on this occasion. We pray that this year will be a year of grace to him and God will bless him and all of us in the campus abundantly. We are celebrating this event on his 50th birthday on 22nd November, 2011 in the College. A grand cultural evening is scheduled on the eve of the birthday and Dental material Art Competition on the birthday itself.
